Overview

The freestanding Corton hill offers exposures from southeast to southwest across Aloxe-Corton, Ladoix-Serrigny, and Pernand-Vergelesses. Varied marl, limestone, and clay produce powerful, ageworthy reds and scarce complex whites.

Geography & Climate

The appellation wraps around the upper and mid-slopes of the Corton hill across three communes.

Soils

Jurassic limestone and marl vary with clay, iron, stones, and slope position.

Wine Styles

Red Pinot Noir dominates; rare white Chardonnay may also bear Corton.
