Overview

Vézelay occupies Burgundy’s northwestern edge, where Chardonnay grows on rolling slopes around Vézelay and neighboring communes. Cool continental conditions preserve acidity, while Jurassic limestone and marl support dry whites noted for citrus, orchard fruit, floral lift, and a clean mineral profile.

Geography & Climate

Vineyards spread across hills around Vézelay, Asquins, Saint-Père, and Tharoiseau, with varied elevations and exposures.

Soils

Jurassic limestone, marl, and clay-limestone soils provide drainage and moderate vine vigor.

Wine Styles

The appellation produces dry white wine exclusively from Chardonnay, typically fresh, floral, and citrus-driven.
