Vineyards around Viré, Clessé, Montbellet, and Laizé benefit from warm exposures and limestone-rich soils, producing ripe, floral Chardonnay with citrus, orchard fruit, and mineral freshness.
History
Created in 1999 by joining the former Mâcon-Viré and Mâcon-Clessé areas, it is Burgundy’s newest village AOC.
