Vougeot AOC is a designated wine appellation located within the Burgundy region of France. Vougeot AOC covers village and Premier Cru vineyards around Vougeot, producing red Pinot Noir and uncommon white Chardonnay beside the famous Clos de Vougeot.
Overview
The small commune lies between Chambolle-Musigny and Vosne-Romanée. Outside the separate Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, village and Premier Cru parcels cross limestone, marl, and lower-slope alluvium, yielding structured reds and scarce, rounded whites.
History
Cistercian cultivation made Vougeot internationally known; the village appellation preserves vineyards distinct from the separately classified Clos de Vougeot.

Vineyards extend from the foot of the Côte toward the mid-slope around the village and the walled Clos de Vougeot.
